AMAN CED Programs Certificate Distribution Ceremony 2016
October 19: The Gani & Tayub Auditorium flocked with numerous people from all walks of life wearing their graduation gowns with a sense of pride on graduating from one of the three AMAN Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)'s flagship programs, including Womenx, Entrepreneurship for Engineers (E4E) and the Family Business Program.
The session was attended by a total of 104 graduates of the Womenx program, a World Bank-funded global initiative designed to support women-run businesses through business education, networking and mentoring opportunities. The ceremony marked the completion of the program that successfully targeted 300 women entrepreneurs based in Karachi over a period of 2 years.
The ceremony also marked to be an accomplishment for AMAN CED as the first batch of Executive post graduate diploma in Family business graduated. The participants, hailing from different industries came together for this weekend 12-month program, which was designed to cater to the growing need of preparing the second generation of entrepreneurs for a leading role in the family businesses. The program introduced them to concepts which were hands-on, combining management education along with family business insights.
A total of 30 participants completed the 4-months E4E program, especially designed for engineers in order to enable them to turn their engineering ideas into successful businesses. The ceremony was also attended by the program sponsors, the participants, their families and the faculty of IBA.
The ceremony opening speech was given by Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Dean & Director IBA, he expressed his admiration and encouragement for all the aspiring entrepreneurs, followed by the speech by the Program Director, AMAN CED, Dr. Shahid Qureshi in which he introduced the vision and values behind the formation of CED as well as the various initiatives that CED is currently engaged in. Then one of our chief guests, Mr. Abbas Akberali, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Amreli Steels was called upon the stage to deliver his message across the program participants that have been newly equipped with the skills to revamp their businesses and pursue their entrepreneurial journey.
All the program participants lined up for the certificate distribution by the valued guests and faculty members of IBA, which was followed by our chief guest, Mr. Farhan Hanif, CEO Crown Motorcycles' speech in which he commended the potential of the Pakistani youth and admired their entrepreneurial spirit.
The ceremony ended with group pictures of the program participants and to conclude the ceremony, Dr. Qureshi profusely thanked his entire team and various IBA staff members for their endless efforts towards ensuring the success of AMAN CED initiatives. He also wished good luck to the future entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
