Institute of Business Administration, Karachi

ibaEstablished in 1955 with initial technical support provided by the world famous Wharton School of Finance, IBA is one of the oldest business schools outside North America.  Throughout its history, IBA has jealously guarded the high standards and academic traditions it had inherited, while adapting and adjusting them with the passage of time.
Till 1994, the University of Karachi awarded degrees to the graduates. In that year the Sindh Assembly elevated the Institute's status to that of a degree-awarding institution. Currently, a bill is pending in the Assembly for conferring the status of a University to IBA.
Since inception, in spite of a rapid increase in the number of business schools, the IBA has maintained its position as the premier institution of higher learning in the field of management and business administration.
Initially, IBA offered MBA program only for day scholars. In 1957, an Evening Program was started to cater to the needs of the numerous working executives and managers who were interested in furthering their careers through part-time business studies. In 1982, a three-year BBA (Honors) Program was introduced which has now been upgraded into a four-year BBA program.


Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)

cedlogoThe Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is envisioned to play a strategic role in promoting entrepreneurship in Pakistan and to create a new breed of youth and professionals who believe in opportunity recognition and new venture creation. Its primary emphasis is to enable the new generation of Pakistani entrepreneurs to translate their ideas into enterprises. Accordingly, CED aims to support creation of new companies that add substantial jobs, incomes and revenues to Pakistan's economy.
Established in 2008, CED initially introduced entrepreneurship as a course. However, as of now CED is an independent Centre with state of art campus facilities spread over 40,120 sq ft. The Centre has its own class rooms, seminar halls, library, computer labs and dedicated incubation space and foreign trained faculty to facilitate innovative business models and growing enterprises.
The Centre is operating in strategic alliance with Babson College of Entrepreneurship in Boston (USA) and has also established several local partnerships for promoting Entrepreneurship throughout Pakistan.

Four Corners Group Human Capital (FCGHC)

fcgFCG Human Capital (Pvt.) Ltd (FCGHC) was formed with a clear vision of ‘promoting the human capital’ abundantly available in Pakistan. They ‘identify, source, develop and place talent’ as and where needed through local resources and international partners.
FCGHC’s approach is based on a scientific process, whereby they diagnose an organizations’ problem, apply their consulting approach to Human Capital development which may range from: training need gap analysis to organization development; identifying talent to placement; payroll outsourcing to organizational restructuring.
This being the inception report by Institute of Business Administration, Karachi; all details given henceforth are particular to the program being organized there.

Sindh Board of Investment (SBI)

sbiSindh Board of Investment (SBI) is established with broad based responsibility of promotion of investment in all sectors of economy; facilitation of local and foreign investors for speedy materialization of their projects and to enhance Sindh’s international competitiveness and contribute to economic and social development.
SBI assists companies and investors who intend to invest in Sindh as well as facilitates the implementation and operation of their projects. The wide range of services provided by SBI includes providing information on the opportunities for investment and facilitating companies that are looking for joint venture partners. SBI acts as a focal point of contact for prospective investors, both domestic and foreign to provide all necessary information and assistance in coordinating with other Government Departments/Agencies.
